These purported records indicate that Priya Kapur\u2019s phone was located in New Delhi on March 21, 2025. This specific date is critical, as Priya had stated in an affidavit that she was in Gurugram on the same day when Sunjay Kapur’s will was signed\u2014a key point of contention in court.<\/p>\n
If these records are confirmed and accepted by the court, they could play an essential role in this dispute involving an estate valued at around Rs 30,000 crores. \u201cWhen an affidavit conflicts with digital proof, judges are very cautious,\u201d noted Advocate Swapnil Kothari. \u201cEven a single inconsistency may prompt a deeper examination of the overall situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
This development coincides with ongoing objections from Sunjay Kapur\u2019s children, Samaira and Kiaan, who are challenging the validity of the will. Senior Advocate Ashok Paranjpe emphasized that wills of substantial value must have impeccable documentation. \u201cIt\u2019s essential that all the paperwork is clear,\u201d he said, highlighting the need for reliable witness testimonies during the will’s execution.<\/p>\n
Family law expert Mrunalini Deshmukh added that having a beneficiary present at the will\u2019s signing is not legally required. This raises questions about why Priya\u2019s affidavit stressed her presence if it wasn\u2019t necessary.<\/p>\n
However, legal observers advise caution in jumping to conclusions. Advocate Prem Rajani indicated that in high-stakes inheritance conflicts, courts scrutinize every document meticulously. \u201cDetails, consistency, and intent are all crucial,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Delhi High Court is still deciding if the alleged call records should be accepted as evidence and how much importance they will be given. For the time being, these new developments have turned this family inheritance issue into a closely watched legal case.
