The Delhi High Court has made a significant decision in favor of Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, in their ongoing inheritance case regarding the estate of the late Sunjay Kapur. The Court rejected Priya Kapur\u2019s request to enforce a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that would have kept the heirs from discussing the details of Sunjay\u2019s Will and assets.<\/p>\n
During the hearing, the judge mentioned that imposing such confidentiality could hinder the children’s ability to defend their interests. Justice Jyoti Singh raised a critical question, noting, \u201cIf they are bound by confidentiality, how will they ever defend their case?\u201d<\/p>\n
By the end of the week, Priya, Sunjay’s second wife, withdrew her demand for an NDA. Instead, she consented to submit documents in a sealed cover, to be kept private while allowing family members access. This development enables Karisma\u2019s children to closely examine the Will, which they assert is fake.<\/p>\n
Mahesh Jethmalani, the attorney for Samaira and Kiaan, criticized Priya’s stance, arguing that important accounts were altered and assets misappropriated. He remarked, \u201cFor me, there is nothing confidential. What is there to hide?\u201d<\/p>\n
The Court has instructed Priya to provide a detailed inventory of Sunjay Kapur\u2019s assets, both movable and immovable, sharing this information with Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, and his children while preventing public access. The judge also dismissed Priya\u2019s attempt to create a \u201cconfidentiality club,\u201d calling it unsuitable in inheritance matters.<\/p>\n
This ruling fortifies Karisma Kapoor\u2019s children\u2019s position, as they continue to dispute the authenticity of the Will and allege financial misconduct by Priya. Ultimately, the Court’s decision emphasizes the need for transparency in inheritance disputes, ensuring that Karisma\u2019s children have a fair chance to claim their father\u2019s legacy.
