The CEO, Christophe Fouquet, shared insights on their goals during an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Fouquet expressed excitement about exploring India\u2019s semiconductor ecosystem, acknowledging the country\u2019s ambitions to establish itself as a technological leader. He noted that while ASML currently has no plans for manufacturing or research activities in India, the company aims to learn more about the local industry and build valuable connections.<\/p>\n<p>ASML is known for its photolithography machines, which are essential for chipmakers like TSMC. This technology uses light to create tiny patterns on semiconductor materials, crucial for producing integrated circuits. ASML specializes in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines, which are instrumental in making advanced microchips, including those used for artificial intelligence applications.<\/p>\n<p>Fouquet emphasized that customer service remains a top priority as ASML engages with customers and partners to understand the local market better. He also shared his views on the recent tariff measures announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that while these changes introduce uncertainty, they expect only a limited impact on ASML.<\/p>\n<p>Calling India an emerging market, ASML highlighted that each region faces distinct strengths and challenges. Developing the necessary infrastructure and ecosystem, especially in a growing market like India, will take time.<\/p>\n<p>During the inauguration of Semicon India, Fouquet praised India\u2019s efforts to cultivate innovation, citing the potential of its large population. He stated, &#8220;We see India as a powerful partner with immense possibilities, and we are eager to support the country in shaping its technological future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s semiconductor market is projected to surpass $55 billion by 2026 and reach $100 billion by 2030, driven by the rising demand for electronics, including smartphones and automotive technology. ASML believes its advanced lithography technologies can assist Indian chipmakers in producing smaller, more efficient chips while improving production rates and performance.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the Indian government is focused on enhancing the production, assembly, and export of chips, particularly those at 28 nanometers and above, as they make up about 60% of global consumer electronics demand.
