This concept includes not only the current Palestinian lands in Gaza and the West Bank but also parts of modern-day Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.

On Tuesday, in an interview with i24NEWS, when asked if he supports the idea of a Greater Israel, Netanyahu replied, “absolutely,” indicating that he believes in this vision. He then spoke about the founding of Israel, emphasizing its vital mission to ensure its survival.

Following Netanyahu’s comments, Jordan condemned his remarks as a “dangerous and provocative escalation” that threatens the sovereignty of neighboring states. Amid an ongoing 22-month conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, these remarks have drawn condemnation from across the Arab world.

Iraq joined in the criticism, stating that Netanyahu’s words highlighted Israel’s “expansionist ambitions” and served as a provocation to other nations. Recently, he also reiterated a controversial proposal allowing Palestinians to leave Gaza, which many fear could lead to their displacement, echoing sentiments from past discussions involving other leaders like former President Donald Trump.

CAIRO: Arab nations have expressed strong disapproval of comments made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that suggest support for an expanded “Greater Israel.” They see these remarks as a direct threat to their sovereignty, especially during a notably tense time in the region.
