Typically, films experience a drop in audience numbers during the weekdays after a successful weekend. However, Saiyaara, released by Yash Raj Films (YRF), is breaking this trend.

Reports indicate that Saiyaara is set for impressive weekday collections. The advance ticket sales for Monday show a strong demand. Notably, YRF has decided to introduce a special offer for Tuesday, pricing tickets lower than usual.

Since April, many theaters have been selling tickets at discounted prices on Tuesdays, typically ranging from Rs. 99 to Rs. 199. While successful Week 1 films like Raid 2 and Sitaare Zameen Par skipped this Tuesday deal, YRF is choosing a different path.

A trade analyst pointed out, “Saiyaara has generated significant excitement. Even without the Tuesday offer, the numbers would have been solid. It’s great that YRF chose to make tickets more affordable, allowing more people to enjoy the film without overspending.”

The analyst added that moviegoers often wait for a cheaper ticket, but the excitement surrounding Saiyaara means many viewers are eager to see it now rather than wait for Tuesday’s pricing. This trend suggests that Monday will be strong, and Tuesday could exceed expectations. Typically, films see a drop after a big Tuesday, but Saiyaara might be an exception here as well.

One small note is that the usual Rs. 99 tickets won’t be available for Saiyaara on Tuesday. However, with regular seat prices remaining around Rs. 149 to Rs. 199, fans are unlikely to mind.

On Monday morning, preliminary showings are seeing impressive turnout across various locations. For example, morning shows at Cinepolis Seawoods in Navi Mumbai were nearly sold out, as were showings at other theatres. In Bihar’s Roopbani Cinema, all Monday tickets were sold in advance.

In Ahmedabad, the 9:20 am showing was also rapidly filling up. Not to mention, in Bengaluru, an 8:45 am show at PVR Nexus enjoyed nearly 80% occupancy. With such enthusiasm, Saiyaara is on track for a strong Monday and Tuesday.

A manager at a multiplex in Mumbai shared, “We’ve only seen such high occupancy for weekday morning shows from big-budget films since the pandemic. This reminds me of the days when students flocked to cinemas for early weekday shows.”

As the excitement builds, Saiyaara looks poised for even greater success.

The buzz around the film Saiyaara continues to grow.
