Entering the series with some pressure, having averaged just 25.7 in previous SENA tests (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) and only two half-centuries to his name, Gill turned the tide with a remarkable performance. With a total of 323 runs in the ongoing series, he has overtaken Tendulkar\u2019s tally of 290 from the 1997 tour of Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p>On Day 2, Ravindra Jadeja also made a significant contribution with a solid innings, scoring 89 runs, just 11 short of his second century at Edgbaston.
