Among these, two films drawing attention are the Hollywood superhero film Thunderbolts and the Telugu action movie HIT: The Third Case.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reviewed Thunderbolts and decided not to cut any action scenes, which is great news for fans. However, they did request that five swearing words be muted, including ‘a’, ‘ahole’, ‘d**ks’, ‘b***h’, and ‘prick’. Interestingly, the word ‘prick’ is not usually seen as offensive, so its muting has sparked some discussion. The film received its censor certificate on April 23, and its runtime is officially 127 minutes, making it 2 hours and 7 minutes long. It has been rated U/A 13+.

Similarly, HIT: The Third Case will also premiere on May 1. The CBFC asked for both audio and visual modifications for this film. The studio was instructed to limit the use of the word ‘f**k’ and mute ‘c*****a’. In terms of visuals, scenes with violent content were edited for impact. Notably, close-ups of violent actions were turned into quick flashes, and the depiction of blood was altered to lessen the gruesome effect.

A particularly intense scene involving a neck being cut saw the CBFC reducing the graphic visuals and darkening the color of the shown blood to diminish its effect. This is a unique approach for a film. After making these edits, HIT: The Third Case received an ‘A’ certificate on April 21. The film has a runtime of 157.06 minutes, which is approximately 2 hours and 37 minutes long.

Both films promise to deliver action-packed content, albeit with certain cuts to align with CBFC guidelines.

Exciting Movie Releases in May: CBFC Cuts Explained May is set to kick off with some thrilling movie releases in various languages.
