True Health Hosts Community Day in Goldsboro, Bridging Healthcare Gaps
SANFORD, Fla. — On Saturday, True Health held its annual Community Day, offering free medical services to residents in Goldsboro, a neighborhood that often faces challenges in accessing healthcare.
Key Highlights:
- Residents were able to receive free wellness check-ups, including cancer screenings, immunizations, and dental exams.
- Self-Help offered financial education, illustrating how managing money can positively impact overall health.
- True Health remains committed to serving areas with limited medical services, ensuring that everyone can receive the care they need.
The event took place at True Health’s facility in Goldsboro and featured a wide array of healthcare services at no cost. Participants had the chance to undergo screenings for cervical cancer, get dental check-ups, and have their blood pressure and glucose levels checked. Additionally, residents received free produce and were able to connect with various local resources.
Nurez Madhany, True Health’s Chief Operations Officer, explained, “Community Day began about four or five years ago when we realized there was a need for more Saturday services. It has since grown into a full community event, especially in places like Goldsboro, where healthcare options are limited.”
In addition to the medical offerings, several organizations, including Self-Help, took part in the event. Self-Help focused on providing financial education, showcasing the link between financial health and overall wellness. Alecia Meulendyk, a branch manager at Self-Help, emphasized, “There’s a stigma around finances, and many people shy away from discussions about money. We want to highlight that being financially healthy is just as crucial as being physically healthy.”
True Health operates ten locations throughout Central Florida, with a mission to support areas identified as medically underserved by the Health Resources and Services Administration. The organization remains dedicated to delivering vital healthcare and resources to communities that need it most.
