DP World has officially announced the appointment of Jason Varsamidis as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region, effective immediately. Jason will oversee all of DP World Asia Pacific’s ports, terminals, and logistics operations across 22 countries, supported by a workforce of over 12,000 employees.

With nearly 30 years of experience at DP World and its predecessor, P&O Ports, which he joined in 1997, Jason is well-equipped for this role. In his new position, he will focus on enhancing regional strategy and boosting operational performance. He aims to strengthen supply chains and expand DP World’s logistics capabilities to provide more value to customers.

Yuvraj Narayan, Group CEO of DP World, expressed his confidence in Jason’s leadership, stating, “Jason is a highly respected leader who deeply understands our business and the markets we serve. His solid track record and keen business sense position him well to lead Asia Pacific, a vital area for our growth.” He emphasized that Jason’s appointment ensures continuity and maintains focus on strategic objectives, customers, and employees.

Previously, Jason held the role of Chief Financial Officer for DP World Asia Pacific since 2020, where he was instrumental in shaping the region’s strategy and investment plans. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer for DP World Australia for seven years, managing various mergers, acquisitions, infrastructure projects, and business improvements throughout his career.

Regarding his new responsibilities, Jason remarked, “I am honored to lead DP World in Asia Pacific. We have a robust business, skilled team, and significant opportunities in this region.” He committed to collaborating closely with the leadership team and colleagues to ensure progress, meet customer needs, and further advance strategic priorities.
