Modi Advocates for Cleanliness in Navsari
Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of making cleanliness a habit during his visit to Navsari on Tuesday. He applauded the local community for their recent efforts in cleanliness campaigns across 400 villages, highlighting that such initiatives foster pride and motivate others to act.
Speaking to an audience of BJP supporters, local professionals, and residents after launching the newly constructed ‘Namo Kamalam’ office in Navsari district, Modi expressed that the facility should act as a “ray of hope” for those facing injustice. He encouraged that the office’s service should extend beyond its physical space to benefit the community at large.
“Kamalam should inspire hope against injustice. It is not just about building a structure, but how we can serve those in need through it,” Modi remarked. He stressed that cleanliness should be ingrained into daily life, commending the district’s “micro-cleaning” efforts that aim to enhance the appearance of villages, especially during festive times like Shravan, Ganpati, Navratri, and Diwali.
During his speech, Modi also touched on the behavior of spitting in public, pointing out it was an issue that needed to change. Additionally, he recognized the dedication of BJP workers in Navsari, praising them for their continuous commitment to development even amidst long-standing public support for the party.
“BJP workers have not let power corrupt their sense of duty. Even after years of service and appreciation, they remain focused on helping the people,” he noted. Modi also highlighted initiatives aimed at eradicating malnutrition and tuberculosis (TB) in Navsari, stressing that these social efforts take precedence over political motives.
“Freeing society from malnutrition is more significant than seeking votes. It brings blessings from every home. Our workers’ dedication to addressing TB is about caring for our future generations, which fills me with great pride,” he stated.
The new ‘Namo Kamalam’ facility spans 40,000 square feet and was built at an investment of around Rs 10 crore. It will serve as the BJP’s new district headquarters, complete with modern technology and features.
The inauguration event attracted a diverse crowd of professionals, including doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers, and businesspeople, along with local BJP workers and residents.
