Extreme Heat Warning Continues Until Thursday Evening

What to Know:
A warning for extreme heat is in place, with temperatures feeling as hot as 105 degrees due to high humidity.

Affected Areas:
This warning covers parts of east-central and southeastern Indiana, as well as northeastern and northern Kentucky. Additionally, it includes central, south-central, southwest, and west-central Ohio.

Timeframe:
The heat advisory will remain active until 8 PM EDT on Thursday.

Possible Risks:
When the heat gets this severe, the chance of heat-related illnesses rises significantly. This is especially true for people who are outdoors, whether they’re working or enjoying activities.

Safety Tips:
To stay safe during this heatwave, remember to do the following:

  • Drink lots of water.
  • Stay in air-conditioned places whenever possible.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Check on friends, family, and neighbors to make sure they’re okay.

Also, keep in mind that leaving young children or pets inside a vehicle, even for a moment, can be dangerous. Cars heat up quickly and can become very unsafe in just a few minutes. Stay safe out there!
