A recent report by the global brand consultancy Brand Finance highlights how Digital Dubai is helping to solidify the city’s standing among the world’s top place brands. Dubai now ranks fifth globally, with a brand value close to AED1 trillion, thanks in part to Digital Dubai, which contributes around AED31 billion to this total. Digital Dubai has also earned an AA+ rating, making it one of the leading digital governments worldwide.
The study showed that Digital Dubai significantly boosts the city’s brand strength, helping Dubai achieve a score of 86 out of 100 on the City Brand Strength Index. This contribution increased Dubai’s Brand Strength score by 1.9 points, elevating it from seventh to fifth place among global city brands.
Building Trust and Reputation
The research also revealed strong scores for Digital Dubai in the Trust and Reputation indices, with ratings of 8.4 out of 10 from both local residents and businesses. These results reflect the growing confidence in Dubai’s digital life and emphasize Digital Dubai’s role in making the city a leading digital hub.

It scored 8.4 out of 10 in Trust and Reputation among the public and businesses, reflecting the increasing recognition and trust in Dubai’s digital offerings.
The study highlighted that Digital Dubai’s influence goes beyond just offering digital government services; it plays a major role in shaping the city’s global appeal and soft power. Digital Dubai contributed 1.9 points to the City Brand Strength Index, improving Dubai’s positioning in areas like innovation and ease of doing business.

The findings indicate that Digital Dubai enhances perceptions of innovation, trust, and business-friendly environments, all of which are vital for attracting talent and investment.
Brand Finance’s method blends marketing and finance tactics to gauge brand strength and financial worth, aiding organizations in making strategic choices. In urban assessments, detailed data was used to measure cities’ reputations based on international benchmarks, with insights drawn from about 5,000 participants.
The Brand Finance Global City Index stands as the most comprehensive analysis of city brand perceptions, ranking the top 100 global city brands. The 2024 edition surveyed over 15,000 respondents across 20 markets, evaluating city brand strength across various factors like familiarity, reputation, and overall appeal for living, working, and investing.
