TOI Shines at the 57th ABBY Awards with Multiple Wins

PANJI: The Times of India brought home several prestigious awards at the recent 57th ABBY Awards held in Goa from May 20 to May 22. This event highlighted the importance of print storytelling and meaningful campaigns in today’s fast-changing media world.

This year’s festival attracted over 4,000 entries from more than 300 creative, media, and publishing organizations.

Among the winners, TOI’s campaign titled ‘Systematic Intelligence Plan’ received a gold award in the Print: Corporate, Media, Entertainment & Others category. The campaign cleverly linked the familiar concept of Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) to newspaper reading, encouraging young audiences to see it as a daily investment in gaining sharper insights and making better decisions. With eye-catching print designs and relatable visuals, the initiative tackled issues like doomscrolling, misinformation, and echo chambers, promoting thoughtful media consumption instead of endless browsing.

In the Publisher ABBY category for Best Marketing of a Printed Newspaper/Edition, TOI’s ‘I Am Kolkata, Amar Para’ campaign won a silver award. This initiative celebrated the rich local culture of Kolkata by focusing on the city’s neighborhoods, known as “paras,” that shape its social and cultural identity. Through powerful print stories, digital interaction, and community events, the campaign inspired people in Kolkata to reconnect with the stories and essence of their neighborhoods.

TOI also earned a bronze in the Sustainable Development Goals ABBY category for Diversity, Equality & Inclusion with its ‘Cancel Patriarchy’ initiative. In collaboration with Khaitan & Co, this program provided women with anonymous access to legal advice on issues like domestic abuse, inheritance, child custody, workplace harassment, and dowry through a specialized online platform.

Another bronze was awarded in the Print: FMCG category for ‘Colours of India — Independence Day 2025.’ This creative advertisement turned the Asian Paints shade card into an homage to the vibrant colors that bring India together.

These achievements underline TOI’s commitment to innovative storytelling and social responsibility in its campaigns.
