IIT Madras Hosts First Technology Summit in New Delhi
Chennai: The inaugural technology summit organized by IIT Madras took place in New Delhi on Tuesday, inaugurated by Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education. The event was themed “From IIT-M. For Bharat. Building Together.”
During the summit, Pradhan emphasized the importance of transforming research into practical solutions. He stated, “Research should not remain confined to academic theses; it must translate into real-world products and solutions.”
The summit highlighted the innovative research coming from IIT Madras, featuring its 15 Centres of Excellence (CoE), various research initiatives, and interdisciplinary schools.
IIT Madras Director V Kamakoti expressed optimism for the future, saying, “The IIT Madras Technology Summit 2026 is an invitation for industry, corporate sectors, and academic institutions to unite in shaping the future of Bharat. IIT Madras is leading the way in research and innovation, backed by our Institute of Eminence, CoEs, and other centers that drive impactful research, which includes significant patents, funding, and startup creation.”
Kamakoti underscored the crucial role IIT Madras is set to play as the country prepares for its next developmental phase towards a prosperous Bharat.
