Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has voiced strong support for MS Dhoni to continue as captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming IPL 2026 season. With speculation surrounding Dhoni’s future growing, Chopra’s comments have sparked renewed discussion among fans and analysts alike.
Dhoni’s 19th IPL Season on the Horizon

“Look, if Dhoni is playing, then he has to be the captain. I believe if he’s on the field for 20 overs, he should be leading the side,” Chopra stated. He further challenged anyone to find a better captain on the field, asserting, “If he’s there, then why not let him lead?”

Chopra’s remarks come as CSK navigates a transition phase, with Ruturaj Gaikwad stepping up as captain after Dhoni stepped down ahead of the 2024 season.
