Celebrity Health Battles of 2025

In 2025, various celebrities faced serious health issues, reminding us that chronic and serious illnesses can affect anyone. From brain conditions to cancer, here are five significant health stories from the year.

1. Kim Kardashian: Brain Aneurysm Scare

Kim Kardashian revealed she had a scare involving a brain aneurysm. During a brain scan with Dr. Daniel Amen, it was discovered that there were “holes” in her brain, indicating low activity in the frontal lobe. This can make it harder to cope with stress. Kardashian discussed her diagnosis in a November episode of “The Kardashians,” explaining how the findings could link back to the stress of her various responsibilities, including preparing to take the California bar exam. She later shared that she did not pass the exam.

2. Dave Coulier: Cancer Returns

Dave Coulier, known for his role in “Full House,” announced that he was facing a second battle with cancer just months after being declared cancer-free. After fighting stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma and undergoing chemotherapy in 2024, he was thrilled to learn he was in remission. However, in October, he was diagnosed again, this time with HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer. He expressed how shocking it was to receive this news after feeling relieved about his previous diagnosis.

3. Eric Dane: Living with ALS

Eric Dane, famed for his role in “Grey’s Anatomy,” has been battling ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He opened up about his diagnosis in April 2025, expressing gratitude for his family’s support and his opportunity to work again on HBO’s “Euphoria.” Despite facing challenges, including limited use of one arm, Dane remains hopeful about his journey and where it might lead. He even suffered an injury related to his condition during the Emmy Awards, which required stitches.

4. Billy Joel: Rare Brain Condition

Music legend Billy Joel was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus, a condition involving fluid buildup in the brain. This diagnosis led to the cancellation of upcoming concerts and even affected his balance and vision. Joel is following his doctor’s recommendations for physical therapy and has taken time off to recover. In a podcast appearance, he reassured fans that he’s feeling fine, even if his condition sounds more alarming than it feels.

5. Gordon Ramsay: Skin Cancer Removal

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay shared on Instagram that he had basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer, removed from his face. He posted photos post-surgery, showing stitches and a bandage. Ramsay reminded his followers about the importance of sun protection, humorously stating that it was not a facelift, joking that he would need a refund if it were.

These stories highlight how health issues can touch anyone, regardless of their fame or success. Each celebrity has shown resilience in the face of their battles, offering inspiration and awareness to their fans.
