Vikram Bhatt’s “Haunted – Ghosts Of The Past” Delayed for More Authentic Touch

Vikram Bhatt is back with a sequel to his hit film Haunted, titled Haunted – Ghosts Of The Past. The original 2011 film was well-received for its engaging storyline, music, and groundbreaking 3D effects. It starred Mimoh Chakraborty and Tia Bajpai, capturing the audience’s imagination with its horror theme.

The new film brings back Mimoh Chakraborty, along with Chetna Pande and other cast members. A teaser was released on September 3, and the film was originally set to hit theaters on November 21. However, it has now been postponed to January 30, 2026.

In an exclusive chat, Vikram Bhatt revealed the reasons behind the delay. He shared that he faced personal challenges, as his mother fell seriously ill earlier this year and sadly passed away in September. This affected his ability to complete the visual effects (VFX) for the film.

He also noted that after releasing the teaser, fans expressed their disappointment regarding the film’s settings, wishing for more real locations. Listening to this feedback, Bhatt decided to reshoot some scenes in actual locations for about 10-12 days to enhance the film’s authenticity.

Despite some rumors suggesting the use of AI in the production, Bhatt clarified that the film relies entirely on VFX. He aims to create a unique world in the story, but acknowledged that initial views may have led to misunderstandings about the visual effects.

As for the trailer, Bhatt mentioned it will be available next month. When discussing the film’s music, he hopes to create a soundtrack that matches or even surpasses the original’s success.

In closing, Bhatt made a bold statement about the film’s 3D effects, claiming that Haunted – Ghosts Of The Past will feature the best 3D visuals seen in Indian cinema to date. He’s excited to showcase what they have accomplished and looks forward to the audience’s reaction.
