Last month, fans mourned the unexpected loss of beloved singer and actor Zubeen Garg. In tribute, his final film, Roi Roi Binale, is set to premiere this Friday, October 31. To honor this legend, all cinemas in his home state of Assam will exclusively showcase his movie, putting a hold on other film releases.
A source close to the film industry shared that theaters across Assam will stop screening various films such as Thamma, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle starting October 31. Notably, new releases will also be sidelined, allowing only Roi Roi Binale to play in every cinema throughout the state.
Advance ticket sales have kicked off, and by midweek, most showtimes are either sold out or close to it. In Guwahati, the first screening starts as early as 6:00 a.m., and in Tezpur, some theaters will begin at even earlier hours. For instance, SVF Cinemas in Tezpur will offer a show at 5:45 a.m., while Imp Cinemas will start at 5:20 a.m. The very first show in India is scheduled for 5:00 a.m. at TNZ Cinemas.
The enthusiasm for Roi Roi Binale isn’t just confined to Assam; locations like Ahmedabad and Jaipur are also seeing a fast uptake in ticket bookings. The trade source noted that the film’s ticket sales in Assam are exceptional, projecting that it may set new records for the region.
In Roi Roi Binale, Zubeen Garg portrays a blind artist. The film also features acting talents like Mousumi Alifa and Joy Kashyap. Zubeen not only stars in the film but also contributed to its writing and production, alongside his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and Shyamantak Gautam.
