Man’s Viral Clip Pitting India’s Bustling Roads Against Poland’s Quiet Streets Ignites Controversy

A video by Indian content creator Kunal Dutt has taken the internet by storm, highlighting the differences in driving cultures between India and Poland. In the viral clip shared on Instagram, Dutt strolls down a peaceful Polish street, asking viewers, “Can you hear anything?” The video features smooth traffic with no honking, showcasing how drivers in Poland typically use their horns only in emergencies, viewing excessive honking as rude.

Dutt contrasts this calm atmosphere with the bustling roads of India, where constant honking is a common sight and sound. He emphasizes that this behavior adds significantly to noise pollution. At the end of his video, he encourages viewers to adopt positive driving habits observed abroad and bring them back to India.

The post, which has garnered around 61,000 views, sparked lively discussions online. Many viewers resonated with Dutt’s message, applauding the need for better road manners. However, some defended honking as a necessary way to navigate the chaotic Indian traffic.

Indian expats, in particular, called for improved traffic discipline, highlighting that excessive noise has health implications. Others pointed out that India’s unique traffic situations, such as overcrowded roads and unpredictable pedestrian behavior, often make honking more of a survival tactic than a choice.

The video has opened up a wider dialogue about how different cultures and enforcement practices shape road behaviors. One user stated, “In our country, honking is essential because you encounter various types of people on the road. If you don’t honk, you might get blamed.”

Other comments echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the challenges of changing entrenched habits among drivers. Yet, many agree that developing a sense of civic responsibility is important for safer and quieter streets for everyone.
