Dhoni Reflects on Retirement Plans After CSK’s Victory

Following a thrilling win against KKR, MS Dhoni addressed questions about his future in cricket. The legendary wicketkeeper hinted he hasn’t made any decisions regarding retirement, a topic that has been buzzing among fans for several seasons.

During the match at Eden Gardens, fans donned yellow CSK jerseys in support of Dhoni. In a post-match interview, he acknowledged the warmth he’s received from supporters, many of whom are uncertain about when he might hang up his boots.

"The love and support from the fans is incredible. At 43, I’ve played for a long time, and perhaps they aren’t sure when my last year will be, which is why they cheer me on," Dhoni commented with a smile.

When asked directly about retirement, Dhoni mentioned that following the IPL, he would need to train hard for another six to eight months to evaluate his body’s ability to handle the sport’s demands. "It’s a short period now, and afterward, I have to see if I can continue. I haven’t made any decisions yet," he stated.

CSK Ends Losing Streak Against KKR

Dhoni celebrated a crucial win that broke a four-match losing streak. He shared that several things fell into place during the game, emphasizing the team’s goal to remain competitive while preparing for future seasons.

"It’s great to finally win. We got many things right, and it stirs pride in me. Our focus is on being practical and competitive while planning for next year. We are working on finding the right combinations and ensuring our batting order improves," Dhoni explained.

CSK is set to face RR next at the Chepauk on May 12, looking to build on this momentum.
