Shopkeepers report that the popularity of these customized dhotis has soared, sometimes even matching the sales of team jerseys during this World Cup. “We’ve seen a huge demand for mundu, particularly those featuring the designs of Portugal, Argentina, and Brazil,” shared the owner of Puthuma Collections in Wadakkanchery, Thrissur. They also noted that jerseys featuring stars like Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappé, and Neymar are flying off the shelves.
