Australia’s Diplomatic Mission to India: Focus on Strengthening Quad Alliance
Today, I am heading to India to take part in the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and the Australia-India Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue. This meeting comes at a crucial time, with the Quad—comprising Australia, India, Japan, and the United States—acting as an essential partnership aimed at fostering peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
The four nations are working together on important issues such as maritime security, supply of critical minerals, infrastructure development, and disaster response. These efforts demonstrate our commitment to shared interests and goals.
During my visit, I will engage in the 17th Australia-India Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue with my Indian counterpart, Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar. The relationship between Australia and India is more important than ever.
As Comprehensive Strategic Partners, we are increasing our collaboration in various areas, including trade and investment, defense and maritime safety, climate change, energy transition, technology, and education. A strong social connection remains a cornerstone of our partnership.
The Albanese Government is dedicated to enhancing Australia’s international relationships and is committed to hard work within both new and existing partnerships like the Quad as we strive to build a better future in an increasingly unpredictable world.
