This week marks the release of Chand Mera Dil, featuring Lakshya and Ananya Panday. The film has garnered attention thanks to its catchy title track, a captivating trailer, and the strong chemistry between its lead actors. This intense romance film fits well within the current trend of successful romantic dramas at the box office.
The film’s production company, Dharma Productions, efficiently navigated the censoring process, which will be highlighted here.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given Chand Mera Dil a U/A 16+ rating. However, the board required two significant edits. They mandated the removal of a 10-second kissing scene and also cut a longer segment of lip-locking that lasted 1 minute and 26 seconds. In total, 96 seconds of kissing footage has been edited out. Additionally, the makers had to submit a consent letter for all the child actors featured in the film.
After these adjustments were made, the CBFC issued the censor certificate on May 8. The film has a total runtime of 135.36 minutes, or 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 36 seconds.
Advance ticket sales for Chand Mera Dil are expected to begin on May 18. Directed by Vivek Soni, known for titles like Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021), the film is produced by an impressive team including Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke deSouza.
On its release day, May 22, tickets for shows before 5:00 PM will be available for just Rs. 149, while after 5:00 PM, prices will rise to Rs. 199.
Stay tuned for more updates on this much-anticipated release!
