Tamil Nadu: TVK Receives Support to Form Government

The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party has successfully crossed the majority mark in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. VCK head Thol Thirumavalavan officially provided a support letter, pushing TVK’s count to 119 MLAs, which later increased to 120 with IUML’s help. India Tests Advanced Agni Missile

India has successfully conducted a flight test of the Advanced Agni missile, which is now equipped with Multiple Independently Targeted Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. This achievement enhances India’s strategic defense capabilities. The test was carried out from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha, where the missile engaged multiple targets in the Indian Ocean Region.

Suvendu Adhikari Becomes West Bengal’s First BJP Chief Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects to the people of West Bengal during the inauguration of Suvendu Adhikari as the state’s first BJP chief minister. The ceremony took place at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, marking a significant shift after the Trinamool Congress’s 15-year reign ended with BJP winning 207 seats in the recent elections.

Mamata Banerjee Acknowledges Change in Leadership

Following the defeat of the Trinamool Congress in the West Bengal elections, Mamata Banerjee updated her profile on social media to reflect her status as the former chief minister of the 15th, 16th, and 17th Assemblies. This change signals her acknowledgment of the end of her administration after BJP’s victory.

Punjab Minister Arrested in Money Laundering Case

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested Punjab’s industries minister and AAP leader, Sanjeev Arora, related to a money laundering investigation. Raids were conducted in Delhi, Gurugram, and Chandigarh. The agency claims that Arora and associated companies used fake purchase invoices to obtain fraudulent GST benefits, which were then allegedly funneled through Dubai.
