Trump Talks Military Actions in Iran, Claims Progress on Global Conflicts
On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed reporters, emphasizing that even with military operations underway in Iran, he will not label it a war. He stated that the U.S. has significantly diminished Iran’s navy and air force, suggesting the country is eager to negotiate a deal. Trump also mentioned that he has successfully “settled” eight different conflicts.
During his remarks, Trump indicated that Iran’s military capabilities have greatly weakened. He claimed that their drone production is down by about 82% and asserted that the U.S. has effectively destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Trump Highlights Diplomacy in India-Pakistan Relations
In addition to Iran, Trump discussed his role in the tensions between India and Pakistan. He relayed a message from a Pakistani minister who thanked him for preventing what could have been a catastrophic conflict, saying it could have saved “30 to 50 million lives.” He specified that during a high-tension period, 11 aircraft were shot down, but he managed to ease the situation using tariffs as leverage.
“I told them that I would impose tariffs unless they stopped fighting,” Trump explained.
The President also noted that the U.S. will maintain its naval blockade of Iranian ports, especially as oil prices continue to rise amid the current tensions. “Their economy is collapsing,” he remarked, highlighting the impact of the blockade on Iran’s economic situation.
Overall, Trump’s statements illustrate his focus on utilizing economic measures and diplomatic channels to address international conflicts.
