A significant development has emerged in a case related to actor Akshay Kumar’s daughter, which first came to public attention last year. Authorities have made the first arrest in a sextortion attempt targeting his daughter during her online gaming activities.
This incident, which Akshay Kumar shared during a cyber-awareness event in Mumbai back in October 2025, involved his daughter, Nitara, who was just 13 years old at the time. The actor highlighted the dangers children face on online gaming platforms and the necessity of digital awareness.
Just a few months later, in April 2026, police confirmed an arrest in connection with the case. Yashasvi Yadav, Additional Director General of Police, announced this development during a cyber-awareness session at R.D. National College.
Yadav recounted Akshay Kumar’s shocking revelation about the situation, noting that his daughter courageously informed her parents about the encounter. This prompt action allowed the authorities to step in and address the issue.
The actor previously shared how the incident began while his daughter was engaged in an online video game. At first, the exchange with an unknown player seemed innocent, with polite compliments flying back and forth. However, the tone shifted when the individual started asking personal questions.
Akshay Kumar described the conversation, explaining that it started with harmless messages like, “Thank you, that was great” but soon turned inappropriate. The stranger inquired about her gender and eventually requested a nude photo. Thankfully, his daughter decided to shut down the game and told her mother about the incident.
The actor emphasized the vital need for both children and parents to be vigilant, as such incidents can escalate quickly and lead to dire consequences. He raised awareness about the prevalence of cybercrime and the emotional toll it can take, including the risk of extortion and mental health issues.
As of now, authorities have not provided additional details regarding the arrested individual or the ongoing investigation.
