Hansika Motwani Takes Legal Action, Files ₹2 Crore Defamation Case Against Sister-in-Law Muskan Nancy James

Hansika Motwani has recently taken legal action against her estranged sister-in-law, Muskan Nancy James, by filing a defamation lawsuit in a Mumbai sessions court. In her complaint, Hansika is seeking damages of ₹2 crores, a public apology, and a court order to stop Muskan from making further statements about her.

The lawsuit, filed with the help of advocate Adnan Shaikh, claims that Muskan has made damaging claims about Hansika on social media, including allegations of domestic violence related to Hansika and her brother, Prashant Motwani. Hansika insists these claims are entirely false and have harmed her reputation.

At the heart of the conflict is a financial issue. Hansika alleges that Muskan borrowed ₹27 lakhs during her marriage to Prashant and has not repaid the debt despite multiple reminders. The suit suggests that the defamatory statements may have arisen to evade this repayment.

This legal dispute follows a separate complaint filed by Muskan against Hansika and her husband, Prashant. In her complaint, Muskan accused them of harassment and interference in her marriage. She even mentioned that the stress caused by their actions contributed to her developing Bell’s Palsy.

In response, Hansika has firmly denied any wrongdoing, stating that she has had minimal involvement in the couple’s lives. She asserts that she should not be held responsible for the claims made against her.

Aside from the civil suit, Hansika has also pursued criminal defamation charges against Muskan in a magistrate’s court in Andheri. Earlier, she sought to dismiss the FIR filed against her at the Bombay High Court, and the court has issued a notice regarding her request.

On her behalf, a statement highlighted that Hansika has been unfairly caught in the midst of this dispute and has faced ongoing negative publicity. It emphasized that she had little involvement in her brother’s marriage and that the accusations lack any legal basis.

As this situation develops, the family matter, tied to the troubled marriage of Prashant and Muskan, is set to be addressed soon in the Dindoshi sessions court.
