Shah Rukh Khan’s Dubai Shoot for King Scrapped Over Middle East Tensions, Desert Scenes Relocated to Mumbai: Report

The upcoming action film King, directed by Siddharth Anand and featuring the renowned Shah Rukh Khan, has had to adjust its filming schedule. A planned shoot in Dubai has been cancelled due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East.

Reports indicate that a desert action scene, which was supposed to include Anil Kapoor and Suhana Khan, was set to be filmed in Dubai starting April 9 and was to last a week. However, the team opted to change plans to prioritize the safety of everyone involved.

An insider shared that while they had obtained all necessary permissions for the shoot, the changing circumstances in the region made it too risky to proceed as planned. Consequently, the production team has recreated the desert environment at a studio in Vile Parle, Mumbai, ensuring that filming can continue without delays.

The adjustments have allowed the filmmakers to bring their vision to life more effectively. The sequence, which involves a chase followed by an intense fight, has been designed on a larger scale to match the director’s expectations.

King boasts a star-studded cast that includes not only Shah Rukh Khan but also Suhana Khan, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Saurabh Shukla, Abhay Verma, and Raghav Juyal.

The film is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026, just in time for the Christmas holidays. As of now, production is in full swing.
