Priyanka Chopra recently shared her journey from beauty pageants to becoming a global star on the Going Rogue podcast. She reflected on her teenage years, recalling how her life changed dramatically after entering the world of pageants.
Priyanka first attracted attention when she competed in the Femina Miss India contest as a young girl. At just 18, she won the Miss World 2000 title, a victory that significantly altered her life and opened doors in the entertainment industry.
Looking back, Priyanka admitted that she felt a bit unprepared for the pageant world, having little modeling experience at the time. The sudden fame and responsibilities forced her to mature quickly.
She also talked about her fashion sense back then, saying she wasn’t particularly into fashion. “I wasn’t a fashion girl growing up. I was that quintessential 90s girl,” she explained with a smile.
One amusing memory she shared involved her fondness for belly button piercings. She recalled a moment when she had to get her belly button re-pierced while riding in a cab, saying, “I loved my belly button ring.”
Reflecting on those years, Priyanka described a time filled with rapid changes and valuable lessons. Winning Miss World brought her international attention and opportunities, but it also required her to adapt quickly to life in the spotlight.
