Vijay Ganguly Addresses Casting of ‘Shararat’; Clears Up Tamannaah Bhatia Rumors

Choreographer Vijay Ganguly has recently addressed the rumors regarding the song “Shararat” from the film Dhurandhar. He clarified that actress Tamannaah Bhatia was never in contention for the dance sequence, contradicting claims that she was “rejected” from participating.

In a candid social media post, Ganguly expressed his disappointment over how discussions about creative choices can become distorted. He pointed out that sensational language often overshadows the artistic effort behind a film. “I truly enjoy discussing cinema and its many layers, but I often hold back because it’s easy for quotes to be taken out of context. It’s unfortunate that the focus has shifted to comparisons between talented artists instead of on the song itself,” he wrote.

Ganguly emphasized the collaborative nature of filmmaking, urging fans to appreciate the nuances in creative decisions. “Cinema thrives on respect and context. I hope we can keep the spotlight where it belongs—on the work and the artists who contribute to it,” he added.

To clarify the situation, he stated that Tamannaah was not chosen for the scene because her star power might have overshadowed the specific needs of that moment. He explained that the music is tied to a crucial tension in the film, and the decision to cast different performers was about maintaining the story’s focus.

Ganguly’s comments aim to dispel notions of rejection, highlighting that casting choices are primarily driven by the narrative needs rather than personal judgments. He underscored that it’s essential for the song to enhance the film’s tension and story progression.

Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia continues to earn praise for her recent performances, including her song “Ghafoor” from *The Ba**ds of Bollywood, which has garnered considerable attention across social media.

With Ganguly’s statement now made, the focus shifts back to the artistic intentions behind Dhurandhar, reinforcing the idea that casting decisions should serve the story rather than simply rely on star power.
