Maddock Films has released the final trailer for their upcoming movie Ikkis, a war drama that tells the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who earned the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. This film is set to hit theaters on January 1, 2026.
In the trailer, the creators describe Ikkis as “a true story of unmatched courage,” highlighting how Arun Khetarpal became a symbol of heroism at the young age of 21. The footage reveals moments from his remarkable life, showcasing his fearlessness in battle and the events that led to his ultimate sacrifice for his country.
The release of the trailer follows a change in the film’s premiere date. Originally planned for December 25, 2025, the release has been moved to January 1, 2026. Reports suggest that this decision was made to avoid competing with Dharma Productions’ upcoming film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. There have also been rumors that the anticipation surrounding Dhurandhar influenced this date change. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan hinted on social media that astrology may have played a part in the decision as well.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis features a talented cast that includes Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Agastya Nanda. This film marks Agastya’s first major project following his debut in The Archies, which was released on Netflix last year. The movie also introduces Simar Bhatia, the niece of Akshay Kumar, in her acting debut.
Dinesh Vijan is producing the film under the Maddock Films banner, with co-producers Sharada Karki Jalota, Poonam Shivdasani, and Binny Padda supporting the project. The screenplay has been crafted by Sriram Raghavan in collaboration with Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti.
