Diljit Dosanjh Teams Up Again with Imtiaz Ali

Diljit Dosanjh has confirmed his collaboration with director Imtiaz Ali once more, sharing this exciting news through a behind-the-scenes vlog from his current shooting location in Punjab. He posted the video on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into his daily routine and hinting at their reunion after the success of Amar Singh Chamkila.

In the vlog, Diljit can be seen starting his day early at 4:30 am, kicking off with a workout. He enjoys a healthy breakfast filled with fruits and protein before heading out to the shoot with his crew. The video features him filming in front of a green screen and enjoying friendly moments with Imtiaz Ali, confirming that the director is at the helm of Diljit’s new, untitled project. After a long day on set, Diljit returns to a beautiful haveli where he’s staying during the film’s production.

This upcoming film marks another collaboration for the duo following Amar Singh Chamkila, which tells the story of the legendary Punjabi musician. In this film, Parineeti Chopra played the role of Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife. Chamkila, often referred to as the “Elvis of Punjab,” was beloved for his vibrant performances and impactful lyrics. His tragic murder alongside Amarjot in 1988 is still mourned in the Punjabi music community.

Amar Singh Chamkila received two nominations at the International Emmy Awards, recognizing Diljit for Best Actor and the film for Best TV Movie/Mini-Series. While they did not take home the awards, this acknowledgment showcased Punjabi and Indian storytelling on a global stage and highlighted Chamkila’s lasting influence.

Looking ahead, Diljit is set to appear in Border 2, the much-anticipated sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 classic. Directed by Anurag Singh, this film will star Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit, depicting the courageous lives of soldiers protecting the country. Produced by T-Series and J.P. Films, Border 2 is expected to release on January 23, 2026, promising thrilling action, emotional depth, and a patriotic narrative for modern audiences.
