Case Filed Over Fake Notice in Dehradun University
Dehradun: Authorities have initiated an investigation into a fake notice that was circulated, claiming that a private university in Dehradun would award additional internal marks to students for attending an event featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The misleading notice was widely shared on various social media platforms and sparked a backlash from political leaders, particularly from the opposition. They criticized the university for allegedly involving politics in education matters.
The university’s registrar, Subhashish Goswami, reported the issue on Saturday night, leading to the filing of a case under section 336(2) for forgery, along with relevant parts of the Information Technology Act.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about the integrity of educational institutions and the use of such tactics to influence students.
