CrashPlan Expands in Bengaluru with New Global Capability Centre
CrashPlan, a leading player in data protection and cybersecurity, is ramping up its operations in Bengaluru by enhancing its Global Capability Centre (GCC). This move is an important step in the company’s plan to broaden its reach in India, marking the nation as a vital base for innovation, engineering, and product development.
The growth of the Bengaluru GCC follows CrashPlan’s acquisition of the local cybersecurity firm Parablu in 2024. This acquisition has allowed CrashPlan to expand more efficiently without starting from scratch. Since then, the company has increased its workforce in India, hitting around 100 employees, with plans to double that number in the next year.
The Bengaluru centre will be crucial for various functions, including engineering, sales, customer support, AI development, and research. This expansion highlights CrashPlan’s goal of becoming a leader in AI-driven data protection while tapping into Bengaluru’s rich tech talent.
With global revenues nearing $100 million, the company is targeting double-digit growth in the next two years. Under the guidance of CEO Dan Beer, CrashPlan is enhancing its presence not just in India, but also across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, aiming to capture a larger share of the data management market.
CrashPlan is also looking for more acquisition opportunities in India, focusing on companies that complement its technology and growth strategy. The company’s model emphasizes profitability, which allows for reinvestment in talent, infrastructure, and innovation to ensure long-term success.
As Bengaluru becomes the heart of this expansion strategy, the GCC is expected to play a pivotal role in transforming CrashPlan into a next-generation data protection company, driven by AI and local expertise.
