New Delhi: Taliban Foreign Minister Holds Press Conference
In a recent event, Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi made headlines by claiming the Afghan embassy in India, despite the lack of formal recognition for his government. This was the second press conference he held in just two days.
On Sunday, he addressed various issues, particularly focusing on women’s rights in Afghanistan. Unlike the previous interaction where no women journalists were present, this time women members of the press were invited. Muttaqi noted that the omission of women journalists in the earlier conference was unintended and described it as a “technical issue” due to the short notice of the event.
This shift in approach highlights a potential effort by the Taliban to present a more inclusive image, even amid ongoing debates about governance and human rights in Afghanistan.
