Minnesota Men Raise Awareness for Mental Health in Chattanooga

Two men from Minnesota are making a stop in Chattanooga this Sunday to shine a light on the mental health community that often goes unnoticed.

John Lennox, the founder of The Recovery Road, is leading this national campaign aimed at sparking conversations about the lives lost to drugs, alcohol, and suicide. “I’m tired of watching people die. In 2024, we lost 307,000 lives to these issues, and the systems meant to help are broken and underfunded,” he shared passionately. Lennox believes that treating mental health services as an investment rather than a cost can yield significant returns for society.

Joining him on this journey is Everson Griffen, a former defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings, who has his own well-documented struggles with mental health. The duo is walking through several Appalachian states, including West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee, raising funds for mental health and addiction programs along the way.

They will arrive in Chattanooga Sunday after noon before continuing to Nashville for the INvest Conference on Wednesday, October 22. Funds collected during the march will support various mental health initiatives, helping to create a better future for those in need.
