Ajay Devgn’s NY Cinemas to Rebrand as Devgn CineX
Ajay Devgn’s popular theater chain, NY Cinemas, is set for a major change. The theaters, known for their inviting atmosphere, top-notch sound and visual quality, and affordable prices, will now be called Devgn CineX.
The announcement came from Gaurav Mishra, who worked with NY Cinemas from March 2019 to July 2025. He shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the theater chain has merged with the Vishwa Samudra Group, and a new logo will be revealed soon.
In his tweet, Mishra expressed his excitement about this new identity for NY Cinemas, which will soon debut as #DevgnCineX.
The Vishwa Samudra Group, based in Hyderabad, is one of India’s rapidly expanding conglomerates. With over 25 companies under its wing, it operates in various sectors like infrastructure, logistics, shipping, real estate, and more, with a global presence in countries such as the USA, UAE, and Germany.
Currently, NY Cinemas operates in several locations across India, including cities like Ahmedabad, Gurugram, and Kanpur. The chain was founded in 2017, with its first location opening in Ratlam in 2019. The Ratlam theater gained attention for its unique railway-themed design, with Devgn highlighting the venue’s tribute to the iconic railway network of India over the years of cinema.
Ajay Devgn has expressed his vision for these theaters as spaces that rekindle the magic of cinema and create a connection between audiences and their favorite films.
