Heavy Rainfall Expected in Arunachal Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that several districts in Arunachal Pradesh should prepare for heavy rainfall starting Sunday. Areas anticipated to witness significant rainfall include Papum Pare, East Kameng, West Kameng, Namsai, Lohit, Tirap, Longding, and Lower Subansiri.

Due to the expected conditions, the IMD has issued an ‘Orange’ alert, advising residents and local authorities to stay vigilant against risks of waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides.

The rainfall intensity is expected to increase on Monday, particularly in Upper Subansiri, the Siang region, West Kameng, Tawang, Lohit, Anjaw, and parts of Lower Dibang Valley. In light of this, the IMD has also raised a ‘Red’ warning for these areas, indicating the possibility of very heavy rain along with thunderstorms and lightning. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions.
