Sriram Raghavan, a highly respected filmmaker, is all set to release his much-anticipated movie, Ikkis. This film marks the first theatrical appearance of Agastya Nanda, who is still fresh off his role in the Netflix film The Archies. Originally slated for an October 2 release, the film’s premiere has been postponed.
Sources indicate that Ikkis will now hit theaters on November 7. The change was made by producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, who believes that the start of November, just after the Diwali festivities, will be a better time for the film to reach its audience.
An industry insider noted that this decision is wise, especially since two big films, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, are already scheduled for release on October 2. It seems November 7 could provide a less crowded environment for Ikkis.
The film features notable actors such as Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat and is set against the backdrop of the 1971 war, telling the story of second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal. Agastya takes on the role of this celebrated war hero.
However, the new release date won’t be a solo one for Ikkis, as it will also compete with Ek Din, which stars another star kid, Junaid Khan, along with Sai Pallavi. This film was filmed during the picturesque Snow Festival in Sapporo, Japan, and is directed by Sunil Pandey with Aamir Khan’s production company behind it.
Fans are eagerly awaiting Ikkis, which promises excitement and drama, while also keenly watching the box office race between the two films.
