Toro Company Appoints Edric C. Funk as President and COO
The Toro Company, a prominent player in outdoor solutions, recently announced that Edric C. Funk will take on the role of president and chief operating officer starting September 1, 2025.
Funk brings nearly 30 years of experience with Toro, having worked in various roles, most recently as group vice president of Golf, Grounds, and Irrigation since 2022. In his new position, he will oversee all global operations and supply chain activities, continuing to report to Richard M. Olson, the company’s chairman and CEO.
“Edric’s impressive history of fostering business growth and innovation makes him a great fit for this role,” Olson stated. “He has consistently delivered strong financial outcomes and has been key to our competitive edge. His deep knowledge of our technologies and customer needs will help us continue to grow and add value for all our stakeholders.”
Funk started his career at Toro in 1996 as a design engineer. Over the years, he moved into marketing and took on various leadership roles in the Residential, Landscape Contractor, International, and Commercial sectors. In 2014, he became the director of global product management for Commercial and International businesses, and in 2017, he was appointed managing director of the Centre for Technology, Research & Innovation (CTRI). In 2020, he led the Sitework Systems business before advancing to his current role.
He played a significant part in acquiring Left Hand Robotics and TURFLYNX, which helped bring new robotic mowing technologies to market. Funk has also enhanced the technology community at Toro through initiatives like the Technology Forum, promoting integrated smart systems for customers. In 2020, he was named one of the Most Innovative People in Golf by Golf, Inc.
In his own words, Funk expressed his excitement for the new role: “I am honored to take on this position and eager to work with our talented team to improve our operations. I aim to accelerate profitable growth, advance our technology initiatives, and optimize our global supply chain.”
Educated at the University of Minnesota, Funk holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering and an MBA. He also earned a professional certificate in innovation and technology from MIT. Additionally, he serves on several boards, including the National Golf Foundation and The Toro Company Foundation.
