Ishan Kishan Faces Tough Day as SRH Struggles Against LSG
In a challenging match at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Ishan Kishan had a difficult time behind the stumps. During the game against Lucknow Super Giants on May 19, Kishan dropped crucial catches of Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. These mistakes had a direct impact on SRH’s performance.
Kishan first failed to catch an edge from Marsh and later missed a chance to stump Markram. Both mishaps occurred while debutant Harsh Dubey was bowling, who had shown promise with his skillful left-arm spin. If not for Kishan’s mistakes, Dubey could have claimed two early wickets.
The errors proved costly for SRH as Marsh and Markram built a strong partnership, scoring 100 runs in the first nine overs. Kishan dropped another opportunity in the 10th over when he failed to catch an outside edge from Harshal Patel.
Kishan’s confidence seems to have taken a hit this season. After a strong debut where he scored a century, he has struggled to make an impact in IPL 2025. SRH entrusted him with wicketkeeping duties again, hoping to boost his confidence, but the plan didn’t play out as intended.
Fans took to social media, expressing their frustration with Kishan’s performance, criticizing him for lacking skills despite having the right attitude.
Harsh Dubey also felt the brunt of Kishan’s errors. The young spinner ended the day with figures of 4-0-44-1, with his only wicket coming in the 11th over when he managed to get Marsh caught by Eshan Malinga.
As the match unfolded, it was clear that Kishan’s performance would need to improve if SRH hopes to succeed moving forward.
