The upcoming film Abir Gulaal, featuring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, is facing challenges following a tragic incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. Reports suggest that the movie’s release in India is now uncertain. Adding to this situation, the music company Saregama has decided to remove the film’s songs from all platforms.
Sources indicate that the film’s soundtrack was made available on YouTube and various music services on April 19, coinciding with a successful music launch event in Dubai. However, after the recent attack, calls for a ban on the film’s release in India have intensified.
Concerns over backlash may have prompted Saregama to take down the jukebox and remove earlier song uploads from YouTube and other music apps. Furthermore, the company has deleted all posts related to the film on its social media accounts.
An insider from the film industry mentioned that Abir Gulaal was already scheduled for a tough release in India. There was a glimmer of hope for its launch as the situation had seemed stable, but the recent violent events have shifted the landscape significantly.
Earlier today, reports indicated that Abir Gulaal could face delays, potentially missing its original release date of May 9.
