On March 30, 2025, Tether made headlines by launching a significant recruitment campaign to enhance its expertise in artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and data initiatives. The company is looking for skilled professionals in various technical fields, such as C++, JavaScript, and operating systems development, along with project managers for tech and product development. This strategic move indicates Tether’s goal to challenge traditional Web2 businesses with its upcoming projects and products.

Following the announcement, Tether’s native token, USDT, saw a positive response in the market, increasing by 0.5% against the US dollar, reaching $1.005 at 10:05 AM UTC. In the same hour, trading volumes for USDT surged by 15%, climbing from 35 billion to over 40 billion USDT. This spike in trading activity reflects a growing interest from investors and traders concerning Tether’s future plans.

The implications of Tether’s recruitment drive extend beyond just USDT. The announcement boosted confidence in USDT’s stability, resulting in a $500 million rise in its market capitalization within the first day, reaching $100.5 billion by March 31 at 10:05 AM UTC. Conversely, other stablecoins like USDC experienced a slight dip, declining by 0.2% against the US dollar, which indicates a shift in investor interest toward USDT.

Moreover, the USDT/BTC trading pair experienced a notable 10% increase in volume, suggesting that traders are increasingly using USDT as a steady medium for Bitcoin transactions in light of Tether’s innovations.

On a technical analysis front, market indicators reflected strong momentum following the announcement. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) for USDT rose from 50 to 55, indicating a bullish trend. Additionally, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) showed a positive crossover, signaling further upward momentum.

The excitement surrounding Tether’s AI projects also had a ripple effect on AI-related tokens. SingularityNET (AGIX) saw a 3% increase, reaching $0.53 soon after the announcement. This uptick indicates a growing sentiment about AI initiatives within the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin also benefited, rising by 1% to $70,000, illustrating how news in the AI sector can sway market sentiment across major cryptocurrencies.

Overall, traders might want to keep an eye on AI-linked opportunities, especially in coins like AGIX, as Tether’s advancements could create new potential in the crypto marketplace.
