Bollywood fans have some exciting news to cheer about! Actress Tabu is back in the horror-comedy scene, joining Akshay Kumar in the upcoming film titled Bhooth Bangla. This marks a significant reunion for Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, who are collaborating after a long 14 years. Akshay shared his enthusiasm regarding this project on social media back in September. Now, Tabu has also taken to her social media to share her association with the film.
The film’s production has recently begun, and Akshay Kumar had previously announced that the talented Paresh Rawal will also be part of the cast. Tabu shared her excitement with her followers by posting a picture of the clapperboard along with a caption saying, "Hum yahan bandh hain," hinting at her involvement. Reports indicate that the filming is currently taking place in Jaipur, where Tabu was welcomed warmly by the team.
In another exciting development, Tabu recently joined forces with Ektaa Kapoor for the successful project Crew. Ektaa, who is also part of Bhooth Bangla, expressed her happiness on Tabu’s social media announcement, saying, "Aapka swaaagat hai, always an honour Tabu mam."
Fans are buzzing with anticipation about the dynamic pairing of Akshay and Tabu, especially as they reunite on screen after nearly twenty years. Viewers are even referencing a crossover between Tabu’s character Manjulika from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Akshay’s character, Dr. Aditya Srivastava from the earlier Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Comments from fans have highlighted this connection, expressing excitement over what some have called a “dream cast” and the possibility of a follow-up to the classic Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
As for the film Bhooth Bangla, it kicked off shooting last week in the culturally vibrant city of Jaipur, with its historical landscapes expected to provide a unique backdrop for the storyline. The production team is capturing scenes at various iconic locations in the city, adding character and authenticity to the film.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla is being produced by Ektaa R Kapoor along with Shobha Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. The writing team consists of Akash A Kaushik for the story, while the screenplay involves Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan, with dialogues crafted by Rohan Shankar. Movie enthusiasts can look forward to its theatrical release set for April 2, 2026.
