The highly anticipated Bollywood film Baby John is set to hit theaters in just a few days, creating a buzz among fans thanks to its star-studded cast and the involvement of renowned director Atlee. The film successfully completed the censorship process, and we’re here to share some details about the modifications made by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Baby John received a U/A certificate, but the board required some edits. Notably, the opening disclaimer was lengthened, and a new note was added stating that the film’s title has no connection to any political figure. Additionally, a voiceover was included to clarify that the child actors’ performances adhered to established guidelines, along with a consent letter submitted to the CBFC.

During the review, the CBFC limited two particular dialogues. One line that mentioned Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was muted, and the name Lal Bahadur Shastri was replaced with an unspecified term in another part of the movie.

The board also requested four visual adjustments. Changes included a scene where a character kicks a kalash (pot), which was modified, and the visuals showing characters being set on fire were cut down by half. A shot depicting a character extinguishing cigarette buds on someone else’s face was altered, and a close-up of a gunshot was also revised.

Furthermore, the CBFC requested that the filmmakers provide an Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) certificate and additional factual sources for some statistical data concerning rape mentioned by a character in the film.

After making these changes, Baby John was officially cleared by the CBFC on December 16, with a runtime of 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 1 second.

Featuring a talented cast that includes Varun Dhawan, Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, Baby John is set to be released in cinemas on December 25.
