Australia’s Travis Head has announced that his disagreement with Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj has been resolved. Both players are ready to move forward after their earlier exchange during the pink-ball Test played on December 8.
Head shone brightly during the Test in Adelaide, scoring an impressive 140 runs off just 141 balls in front of excited fans. However, what stood out on Day 2 was his conflict with Siraj. The Indian bowler celebrated enthusiastically after dismissing Head, which upset the Australian batsman. Head expressed that he had actually complimented Siraj on his bowling, but felt that the sentiment was misunderstood.
After the match, Siraj provided his perspective, stating that he didn’t agree with Head’s version and mentioned that he had been insulted. Fortunately, as the Test continued, Head revealed that they managed to clear the air during Siraj’s turn to bat.
In a conversation with ABC Sport, Head remarked, “We sorted things out; it was just a little misunderstanding. We had a fantastic week and there’s no need to let this overshadow it.” As for their exchange, Head noted, “He asked why I swore, and I admitted that I may have used some bad language the second time.”
Head conveyed that he could have easily shrugged it off and moved on. In his view, Siraj also recognized the situation as a misunderstanding, and he was ready to leave it behind. “I probably could have laughed it off and enjoyed myself,” he reflected. “It was just a misunderstanding, and for me, there are no hard feelings. We just move on.”
In the end, Australia dominated the Adelaide Test, winning by 10 wickets, with Head earning the Player of the Match title for his outstanding performance.
