In an exciting development within the cinematic realm, the beloved Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan and the charming Vaani Kapoor are on the brink of wrapping up their upcoming romantic comedy, Abir Gulaal, in the enchanting streets of London. As the cameras prepare to stop rolling on November 11, 2024, this collaboration, directed by Aarti S. Bagdi—known for the compelling narrative of Chalti Rahe Zindagi—promises to be an intriguing tale produced by a coalition of Indian Stories, A Richer Lens, and Aarjay Pictures. The producing trio, made up of Vivek B. Agrawal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy, has poured their creativity into the film, which has been shot in various picturesque locales throughout the U.K., making the months of October and November a whirlwind of activity.

Notably, industry insiders reveal that while Fawad Khan has already completed his scenes, Vaani Kapoor is slated to finish her portions on the upcoming Monday. This revelation adds a layer of anticipation among fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release. A delightful snapshot circulating online showcases the two stars beaming alongside the crew, with Fawad’s wife, Sadaf Khan, joyfully joining the frame—injecting a personal touch to this significant moment. This uplifting image has fueled excitement, as enthusiasts speculate about the spark and chemistry that will unfold between Fawad and Vaani on screen in this cross-border romantic escapade.

The initial look poster, unveiled over a month ago, set the stage for this project, hinting at the emotional depth and complexity woven into the narrative. The plot centers around two individuals, each nursing their own wounds, whose fortuitous encounter sparks a transformative journey—leading to an unexpected healing and a blossoming romance. An insider previously described the film as one that portrays the serendipitous nature of love, stating, “It’s a story about two broken souls who, by mere chance, come together and inadvertently assist each other, with their vibrant connection paving the way for love.”

Moreover, Abir Gulaal marks a significant milestone as the inaugural international collaboration for Eastwood Studios, helmed by Vivek B. Agrawal and Devang Dholakia, both former executives from Reliance/Phantom.

On the individual front, Fawad Khan, recently seen in the Zindagi series Barzakh, is also set to take the spotlight in Shandur, which is reportedly headed for the SonyLIV platform. Adding to his impressive portfolio, he is also producing and starring in the much-anticipated film Neelofar alongside Mahira Khan. Meanwhile, Vaani Kapoor is gearing up for an intriguing slate herself, with projects like the Netflix thriller Mandala Murders and the coming-of-age dramedy Badtameez Gill on the horizon.

As the countdown to the film’s wrap-up begins, excitement builds in the air, with fans eager to witness not just the story unfold, but the dynamic display of talent from two of cinema’s most cherished stars.
